Albert Einstein

from $175.00

Albert Einstein was a German-born theoretical physicist who developed the theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics. His work is also known for its influence on the philosophy of science. He is best known by the general public for his mass–energy equivalence formula E = mc². He received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect", a pivotal step in the evolution of quantum theory. Of the atomic bomb, Einstein stated his regrets after the war, “Had I known that the Germans would not succeed in producing an atomic bomb, I never would have lifted a finger.” He was born Mar 14, 1879 and he died Apr 18, 1955 (age 76). The background of this painting represents the cosmos where his vision transformed our understanding of space and time.
