George Washington

from $175.00

George Washington was born at his family's plantation on Popes Creek in Westmoreland County, Virginia, on February 22, 1732 and he died December 14, 1799 (age 67) at his estate in Mount Vernon, Virginia. In this painting,  George Washington is represented in front of a Betsy Ross flag, designed in part by George Washington. He served as the first elected president of the United States, but he also commanded the Continental Army during the American Revolution (1775–83) and presided over the convention that drafted the U.S. Constitution. To lead the revolution, he had to muster untrained civilians into an army to fight the best trained army on the planet. He had to overcome obstacles his ill-equipped fighting force faced including disease, treachery, famine and brutal winters. George Washington created how a president would act in the role, manage a newly formed republic, and transition from a general to a politician to a private citizen.

8 x 10 -  $175,  16 x 20  - $495,  24 x 30 - $695
